Hello there and welcome to my blog! I am Xiao Yun, a mom to 4 beautiful children, all with different degrees of Dyslexia traits.
My background was neither in education nor Dyslexia. I resigned from the corporate world when I noticed my eldest son was not hitting his development milestones. My journey and passion for Dyslexia started when I found out that my son has Dyslexia traits.
I made up my mind to research and learn up as much as I can about Dyslexia when I realized that there are little information and help for Dyslexic children in Malaysia. Where there is, the cost is beyond what I could afford. Acquiring knowledge in Dyslexia transformed me from a helpless mom to the best advocate and pillar of support for my four children.
My vision of starting this website is to spread awareness about Dyslexia and share hacks and tips that I wish I had when I first found out about my son’s condition. I hope that this will help teachers who work with Dyslexia children and empower parents like me in your journey with Dyslexia children.
I believe that ‘Education does not discriminate. As a strong advocate for inclusive education, I dream that someday, children with learning difficulties will get the ‘right’ support and accommodation that they require to excel in the mainstream schools in Malaysia.
